Study on Health Impact of BP Oil Spill Underway

The U.S. National Institutes of Health has launched a long term health study of those who aided in clean-up efforts related to last year’s massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The ten year study will look at the possible health effects of more than 55,000 oil spill response workers from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
