Four Year Cancer Control Plan for Louisiana Unveiled

The Louisiana Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, a coalition consisting of multiple non-profits, medical providers and community-based organizations aimed at reducing cancer cases and deaths in Louisiana, has unveiled a new four-year action plan. Effective through 2015, the plan builds on existing services and includes provisions for more free cancer screenings provided through LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport’s Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. The plan also addresses specific cancer risk factors such as tobacco use, exposure to secondhand smoke, physical activity, and nutrition. Download the full report.
